Vietnam, formally the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a restricted country molded like the letter S. It is in Southeast Asia on the eastern edge of the promontory known as Indochina. The mountains of the Annam Cordillera ascend over the majority of the western side of Vietnam, while 1,000 miles (1,600-kilometer) shore rules the east.
